August 2009 Meeting
A Re-Introduction to ASP.NET MVC
The ASP.NET MVC Framework has been in release now for several months and adventurous members of the industry have been using beta versions for well over a year. In that time we've learned a lot about the framework itself as well as techniques for complimenting its features.
This presentation will provide a brief introduction to the framework for those unfamiliar with it. But beyond the introduction, it will cover some techniques and tools to extend the framework and make it easier to work with:
- Areas (dividing an MVC site into logical groups)
- Validation Tips
- Dependency Injection with the Controller Factory
- MvcContrib
- MvcFutures
- Compression and Caching
Finally, we'll reserve some time at the end of the presentation to talk as a group about real world use of the MVC framework. What are some lessons learned and things we'd like to see added or changed about the framework.
